Auto-Kabel offers a variety of different joining processes for the assembly of high-quality products. The full spectrum of fusion and solid-phase welding is utilised. Our own contact parts production for cable lugs, battery terminals and special contacts means that contacts, cables and connection technology can be optimally matched to each other.

Energy-carrying battery cables, starter cables, earthing straps up to 48V cable systems. There are hardly any limits to the variety in form and design. The AK modular system finds a solution for every installation space.

E-Mobility – made easy!

The cables, plugs and wiring harnesses are the new core components in the electric drive train – alongside the HV energy storage system and the e-machine. Efficient and low-loss power distribution are essential for good range and also for a fast charging experience. Many years of expertise in the field of intermetallic Al/Cu connection technology enable the use of robust, lightweight aluminium cables to save weight.

The large variety of metre products – from classic, shielded cables to innovative 3D bent busbars – enables solutions for every application.

Safety – Where explosions by Auto-Kabel save lives

As a global player in battery disconnect equipment, Auto-Kabel works with premium OEMs to develop unique safety solutions. Our company is a supplier to a large number of OEMs and TIER 1 for state-of-the-art systems for active occupant protection – from safety battery terminals, high-voltage disconnectors to short-circuit elements and much more.

The systems developed and manufactured at Auto-Kabel ensure the safe operation of battery electric (BEV), plug-in hybrids (PHEV), fuel cell drives (FCEV) and, last but not least, conventionally powered (ICE) vehicles. As an example, Auto-Kabel developed the world’s first pyrotechnical separator back in 1996 and successfully launched it on the market. Even today, this technology, which has been continuously further developed, still protects vehicle occupants when needed.

EE – Next Generation

Automotive high-tech applications for more safety and comfort can be realised only by means of reliable and safe electronic components. The demand for safe electrical power has grown rapidly in the past and continues to rise. This development is forcing on-board power supply systems in vehicles of all drive types to ever more far-reaching adaptations and even to completely new concepts.

Auto-Kabel has set for itself the task of developing the solutions and components required for these applications and on-board power concepts for power control, sensing and fuse protection. Newly conceived and required on-board network topologies cannot be implemented without suitable controllers for energy management. Likewise, we give our safety systems their own intelligence, communication and diagnostic capabilities.

Since 1999, we have been a pioneer in the field of aluminium cables and the manufacture of cross-sections from 6 – 200 mm².

Rigid aluminium busbars have also complemented our portfolio for 15 years – and always conduct current where flexibility isn’t needed.

A diverse selection of insulating materials and colours enable use in temperature classes up to 200 °C, as required.
